A Gaming Floor Born from Wellington's Bold

Our casino spans 1,800 square metres across two connected levels, housing over 240 slot machines and 34 live table games - designed so that whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned casino regular, the energy of a Wellington night surrounds every wager.

Harbour Views That Frame Every Waking Moment

Fourteen of our suites face directly onto Wellington Harbour, meaning you wake to the actual movement of the Interislander ferry crossing the strait - a living panorama that no screen saver, however beautiful, could replicate.

New Zealand Produce, Cooked With Obsessive Care

Our head chef drives to the Harbourside Market every Saturday morning before service to hand-select Marlborough king salmon, Kapiti Coast greens, and Central Otago stone fruit - ingredients that appear on your plate within 36 hours of harvest.

The Cook Strait Suite Harbour Panorama
★★★★★

The Cook Strait Suite

Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the full sweep of Te Whanganui-a-Tara harbour, so the first thing you see each morning is open water catching the early southern light. Sheets woven from New Zealand merino wool rest against a king bed set on a platform of aged rimu timber, grounding every luxurious surface in something authentically local.

The Aro Valley Retreat Room Bush-Ridge Outlook
★★★★★

The Aro Valley Retreat Room

Named for Wellington's most quietly creative neighbourhood, this room turns its back on the harbour and faces the green Zealandia ridge instead, filling the space with the particular stillness of the city's bush edge. Dark basalt stone walls absorb the afternoon light slowly, and the bespoke hand-thrown ceramic fittings in the bathroom were commissioned from a local Newtown artisan.

Fine Dining

Head chef Aroha Ngāti built her philosophy around a single conviction: that New Zealand's volcanic soils and cold southern waters already do the most interesting work, and a kitchen's job is simply not to interfere too much. The main restaurant, Tāhuna, serves a changing five-course menu anchored by Marlborough salmon cured in kawakawa and manuka honey, alongside a dedicated counter dining experience at which six guests per evening watch every element of the meal assembled three feet in front of them. The dining room itself is lined with hand-split schist stone sourced from the Wairarapa, and tables are spaced generously enough that conversation stays private - making every dinner feel like a shared secret between you and whoever sits across from you.

What Our Guests Say

★★★★★

"I came over for a long weekend because a colleague had stayed here during a conference and wouldn't stop talking about the harbour views from the upper floors. What genuinely surprised me was how the casino floor felt - it wasn't overwhelming or impersonal the way so many gaming spaces are; there was a real sense that the staff knew the room and cared about the people in it. The casino has a quality I haven't found elsewhere - a human scale that larger venues almost always sacrifice. I've been back twice since, which tells you everything you need to know about how that first night landed."

"Wellington was always a stopover city in my mind, somewhere between Auckland and Queenstown, and I booked Neoaneresort House almost as an afterthought - three nights to break a longer itinerary. The dinner at Tāhuna on my first evening completely dismantled that thinking; I extended my stay by two nights and cancelled the Queenstown leg entirely. On my second evening I spent time on the casino floor and found it carried the same unhurried, considered atmosphere as the rest of the property - which I hadn't expected and genuinely valued. The counter dining experience, watching every element of the meal prepared in front of me, was one of the most attentive hours I have spent at any table anywhere in the world."

"We chose Neoaneresort House for our anniversary because we wanted somewhere that felt genuinely celebratory without being theatrical about it. The Cook Strait Suite delivered a quiet kind of grandeur - the merino bedding, the rimu platform, the harbour light at six in the morning - that made us both feel the city had been arranged for our benefit. Spending an evening at the casino together, with no real agenda beyond enjoying the atmosphere, turned out to be one of the more romantic things we've done as a couple, which neither of us predicted and both of us appreciated. The casino felt welcoming rather than intimidating, and the staff made it easy to simply enjoy the evening at whatever pace suited us."

The Casino

The casino floor at Neoaneresort House runs along the ground level facing the waterfront, covering 1,800 square metres of polished dark stone and low amber lighting that makes every moment feel charged with possibility - 34 live table games, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and three-card poker, are attended by dealers who are chosen as much for their warmth as their precision. The casino is also home to over 240 slot machines arranged across two connected levels, giving guests the freedom to move between the intimacy of the tables and the self-directed pace of the machines as the evening unfolds. At night, when Wellington's harbour wind rattles the glass and the city hums outside, the casino settles into a particular kind of focused quiet - not silence, but concentration, the sound of people deciding what to risk and what to hold. For those who prefer a more private setting, the casino's dedicated VIP lounge offers personal host service and a calmer atmosphere just steps from the main floor. The casino draws a clientele that ranges from Wellington professionals unwinding after a long week to international visitors who arrive specifically because they want their gaming experience bound up in the drama of a southern-hemisphere capital at its most alive. Whatever brings you to the casino floor on any given evening, the room has a way of making the hours feel both purposeful and pleasantly unhurried.

Neoaneresort House

Neoaneresort House stands apart from every other property on the Wellington waterfront because it weaves a living casino floor, intimate suites, and a kitchen devoted to New Zealand's finest produce into a single, breathing experience - not three separate offerings bolted together. The casino here is not an afterthought - it is a considered centrepiece, as much a part of the building's identity as the harbour views that frame it. Wellington itself shaped every design decision here: the restless harbour energy, the city's love of bold ideas, and the particular golden light that falls over Lambton Quay on a clear southern afternoon are all threaded through every corridor and corner. From the moment you step inside, the promise is simple and absolute - that tonight, and every night you spend with us, will feel like something worth remembering long after you've returned home.
